KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
We recommend checking in online with your airline(s) 24 hours prior to departure when possible. This will allow you to select or change your seat. If online check-in is unavailable, please allow extra time at the airport for check-in.
Plan to arrive at your Canadian departure airport at least 3 hours before your flight. A valid passport is required for check-in. Delays due to security procedures are common, so extra time is recommended to avoid any inconvenience.
Please respect the safety regulations for all international flights. Knives, scissors, lighters, nail manicure sets, razors or any other sharp objects must be packed in your checked luggage. These items will not be allowed inside the plane cabin or in your carry-on baggage. Please refer to your specific airline for baggage restrictions and allowances. See the following webpage for a comprehensive list of security information for air travel.

- Punta Mita is a safe, gated community, but as a general rule, please practice common travel safety measures. Do not walk alone at night, know your surroundings, and remember to always stay with the group while on tours, and in areas of nature.
- Remember to pack or wear good walking shoes as there may be some cobblestone or uneven streets you encounter on your experiences off of the property.
- To avoid wrinkled clothing, pack cotton and polyester blends – they wrinkle less than 100 percent cotton. You can also reduce wrinkles by leaving your clothes in the plastic bags dry cleaners use.

- If you carry prescription medications, keep them in the original labeled containers and pack them in your carry-on luggage. Please ensure you have a note from your doctor to acknowledge that you are taking certain medications. Your doctor or pharmacist should also provide you with a list of your medications, including the drug’s generic name (brand names may not be the same worldwide). Keep the name and phone numbers of your doctor and/ or pharmacist handy. Customs agents can be very suspicious of unidentified pills.
- Take photocopies of your passport and health card in case it is lost or stolen while traveling. You may want to leave a copy at home with a spouse, significant other, friend or family member.
